한 권의 책을 선물을 받았다.
처음 디스플레이와 비주얼 머천다이징(Visual Merchandising)이라는 알고 싶어 서점에 갔을 때 눈에 들어 온 책이 바로 심낙훈 교수님의 책이었다. 그래서 공부를 하기 시작했고 비주얼 머천다이징이라는 매력적인 직업을 알게 해주신 분이다. 그 동안 심낙훈 교수님의 멋진 강의와 세미나만큼이나 이번에 ‘맨해튼의 비주얼 마케팅’ 이란 책을 출간하셨고 선물을 받았다. 책을 받는 순간 정신없이 책을 읽으면서 시간가는 줄 몰랐다. 한눈에 맨해튼의 상점과 문화공간을 신나게 구경했으니 말이다.
그럼 ‘맨해튼의 비주얼 마케팅’의 내용을 간략하게 구경해 본다. 상품목록은 크게 소매(Retail) 마케팅과 문화 (Culture) 마케팅으로 나누어 소개하고 있다
1. 소매 마케팅: 스토어, 백화점, 할인점, 쇼핑몰, 식품점, 서점
2. 문화 마케팅: 박물관, 미술관, 건축, 거리, 이벤트, 롱 아일랜드
책 한권의 내용을 모두 담을 수는 없지만 Visual Merchandising대한 호기심과 상점 마케팅에 대한 관점 포인트를 볼 수 있을 것 같다.
